Lloyd’s Register at Offshore Wind 2011: Meet our Thought Leaders

With over 2,500 delegates and 167 exhibitors, Offshore Wind is the premier UK event for the industry.

This year Lloyd’s Register will be participating by discussing the preparation of emergency response plans and the forthcoming release of our guidance notes – ‘Guidance on offshore wind farm certification’ and ‘Guidance on wind turbine installation vessels’.

Our experts will be blogging on these themes during the event, so you can keep abreast of developments, whether you are attending Offshore Wind 2011 or following it remotely.

Peter Davies, Renewables Technology Leader, will be discussing our guidance notes on offshore wind farm certification – design, build and operational requirements.  These guidelines are unique in the industry as they use existing international codes and standards where possible, encouraging the industry to drive development and providing the flexibility that this fast growing industry requires.

Rob Whillock, Renewables Lead Offshore Specialist, will be discussing our guidance notes on wind turbine installation and maintenance vessels for owners and yards wishing to class their vessels with LR.

Arve Sandve, Senior Adviser of Scandpower, will discuss his presentation on the “Successful Development of Offshore Wind Farm Emergency Response Plans”.  As one of the conference’s closing speakers, Arve will discuss emergency response and emergency preparedness, and the processes involved in taking the initial idea through to a complete plan.

If you are attending Offshore Wind 2011, you can come and meet me or any of our experts at stand no. 155

In the meantime, follow us by checking back at this site, or following @LRRenewables on Twitter, where we will be posting the latest updates from our experts and other happenings at the event.

Thanks,

Ross
